Halifax, NS, Canada, September 21, 2007 – The awards for the 27th Atlantic Film Festival were presented Friday, September 21 in the Bluenose Room at the Delta Halifax.

Winners are as follows:

Atlantic Awards

Best Atlantic Short
Winner: La Voisine (English title: The Neighbour) by Pamela Gallant

Best Atlantic Feature
Winner: Poor Boy’s Game by Clement Virgo

Michael Weir Award for Best Original Screenplay
Winner: Chaz Thorne and Clément Virgo for Poor Boy’s Game

Rex Tasker Documentary Award
Winner: Scouts are Cancelled by John D. Scott

Ed Higginson Cinematography Award
Winner: Christopher Ball for Fid

Best Director
Winner: Chaz Thorne for Just Buried

CBC Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry
Winner: Sam Grana

PowerPost Craft Awards: Best Art Direction
Winner: Bill Fleming for Poor Boy’s Game

Best Editing
Winner: Justin Simms for Diamonds in a Bucket

Best Sound Design
Winner: Drew Campbell for Bad Day, Good Day, Bad Day

Best Original Score
Winner: Mike O’Neill for Eastern Shore

Canadian Awards

Best Canadian Short
Winner: Madame Tutli-Putli - Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski

Best Canadian Feature
Winner: The Tracey Fragments - Bruce McDonald

Best Canadian Documentary
Winner: The Bodybuilder and I - Bryan Friedman

Best Actor
