'Short Film Face off' On CBC Television Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

Tune into CBC Television on Wednesdays for the new 6-part CBC TV series Short Film Face Off presented with the Atlantic Film Festival Association.

Hosted by PEI broadcaster Matt Rainnie, the show features panelists: acclaimed Nova Scotia actor Nigel Bennett, Newfoundland actor/writer Sherry White and New Brunswick writer Christine McLean. And each week will also welcome a guest panelist.

Every week three short films from directors across Atlantic Canada will be screened and afterwards, the panelists will talk with the directors about their work. Each night one film will be chosen to go on to the semi-finals, where viewers will choose an overall winner online.

The Magical Life of Alice Wilkinson

John Davie (NS)

- An ordinary woman lives an ordinary life…or does she?

The Sparky Book

Mary Lewis (NF)

- A strong bond grows between a girl and her dog in St. John’s NL.

Enough

Jeff Wheaton (NS)

- A young woman’s frustration with her boyfriends hits rock bottom.

Guest Panelist: Jackie Torrens

Watch the show on May 14th when you, the viewer, will get to vote on the winner from the four semi-finals.
