ViewFinders Film Challenges

ViewFinders Film Challenge wants to share Atlantic Canada’s screens and spotlights with young filmmakers ages 18 and under – this means you! Both live action and animated films are accepted. All genres of films we love: fiction, action, documentary, music video or your own invention!

ViewFinders Film Challenge is a launch pad for young talent, and a bridge to connect you with the film industry.

The 31st Atlantic Film Festival’s Music & Image Conference announces program for September 15-18

The 8th annual Music & Image Conference, a component of a year-round partnership between the Atlantic Film Festival and the East Coast Music Association, announces the program for its four-day conference in Halifax, Sept. 15-18 as part of the 31st Atlantic Film Festival (Sept. 15-24).

Volunteer Records Check

For the safety of all we are now requiring AFFA volunteers 18 years of age and older to obtain a Volunteer Records Check. As a volunteer with the AFFA you will receive a reduced rate of $30 and it will be yours to use for volunteering with any other organization or event.

In recognition of continued commitment we will not require returning volunteers from last year’s event who completed a check to obtain another one this year.

Atlantic Film Festival Association Volunteer Policies

The Atlantic Film Festival’s success stems largely from the positive, professional, and fun image that it portrays to the public. Our staff and volunteers are our greatest asset, therefore it is important to remember that as a volunteer you are representing the Atlantic Film Festival Association. The following policies should be adhered to at all times when volunteering:

1)   All volunteers 18 years and older must present a valid police background check. This includes any background check administered in the past three years.

Industry Box Office Assistant (Volunteer Leader)

You are an experienced, reliable and committed AFF volunteer who will provide support to the Industry Box Office and Festival Lounge staff. Working closely with the Box Office Manager, Industry Box Office Coordinator and Festival Lounge Coordinator, the Industry Box Office Assistant will be a front line representative for the Atlantic Film Festival Box Office, interacting with and supplying information to Delegates and general public.
