Film crisis 'exciting opportunity to re-invent ourselves' – keynote message at Strategic Partners 2011

(Halifax, NS, September 20, 2011) The film world is witnessing the end of an era – and the beginning of a new, and potentially invigorating cycle – according to Michel Reilhac keynote speaker at Strategic Partners 2011.

“It's an exciting opportunity to re-invent ourselves. Challenging and risky as any unchartered territory,” the Head of Cinema at Arte France told select film, television and multi-platform producers from 13 countries who converged on Halifax Sept. 15-18.

(Halifax, NS, August 30, 2011) Strategic Partners 2011 blows the lid off the most pressing issues facing today’s film and television co-production landscape.

Private financing, branded content and transmedia are the panel discussion topics at the Atlantic Film Festival’s co-production market focusing on feature film, television fiction and multi-platform projects, set for Halifax Sept. 15-18.

Atlantic Canadian Short Films at the 2015 Creative Nova Scotia Awards Gala

As part of the celebrations for the 2015 Creative Nova Scotia Awards Gala (Saturday, November 7th), a series of free daytime NS art presentations will be offered in room 301, at the Halifax Central Library.
At 3:00pm, a program of Atlantic Canadian short films will be screened, courtesy of the Atlantic Filmmakers Cooperative Atlantic Auteurs program and the Atlantic Film Festival’s REEL EAST COAST series. The program includes films by innovative Nova Scotian film makers Lisa Rose Snow and Jessie Harley, among others.

2016 ViewFinders - Call for Submissions!

ViewFinders is an Atlantic Canada wide youth initiative that brings the Atlantic Film Festival experience to school groups and communities across the region. Each year ViewFinders presents the best in regional, national and international films for youth, tackling issues from multiculturalism and community to sustainability and creativity.

The 18th Strategic Partners announces partnerships forged for exciting new upcoming projects in development

(Halifax, NS) - Last weekend, Strategic Partners co-production market welcomed internationally recognized producers, financiers, broadcasters, distributors, and agency representatives to Halifax, NS, for two and a half jam-packed days of 1-2-1 meetings, networking receptions, screenings, and east-coast hospitality. This 18th year of Strategic Partners yielded tangible results, forging new partnerships for exciting projects.

The Atlantic Film Festival, in the midst of its highly successful 35th year, announces its award winners for the event, September 17th-24th in Halifax. The Industry Awards Reception took place on Sunday, Sept. 20th in the Imperial Ballroom at The Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites.

Strategic Partners announces inaugural Dramatic Television Incubator program, and the second edition of the project exchange with Los Cabos International Film Festival

Sponsored by the Bell Fund, The Dramatic Television Incubator provides producers the opportunity to have their pilot scripts workshopped by a roundtable of international broadcasters and television investors.
