“It's an exciting opportunity to re-invent ourselves. Challenging and risky as any unchartered territory,” the Head of Cinema at Arte France told select film, television and multi-platform producers from 13 countries who converged on Halifax Sept. 15-18.

(Halifax, NS, August 30, 2011) Strategic Partners 2011 blows the lid off the most pressing issues facing today’s film and television co-production landscape.

Private financing, branded content and transmedia are the panel discussion topics at the Atlantic Film Festival’s co-production market focusing on feature film, television fiction and multi-platform projects, set for Halifax Sept. 15-18.


The Atlantic Film Festival Association is currently accepting applications for the position of FINANCE MANAGER. The FINANCE MANAGER provides overall financial management for the organization and ensures impeccable administration in the areas of board of directors’ support, compliance & reporting. This is a F/T Permanent position. Deadline for Applications is April 29, 2016. 

ViewFinders Youth Film Competition - Call for Entry

The ViewFinders: Atlantic Film Festival for Youth has just announced its 13th annual Youth Film Competition for Atlantic Canadians ages 18 and under. Presented by DHX Media, the Youth Film Competition is a video competition where participants can submit short films, all of which must be under five minutes long. Top entries are eligible for prizes that will be awarded at a special red carpet screening at Scotiabank Theatre Halifax on Saturday, June 4.

ViewFinders: Atlantic Film Festival for Youth announces 2016 ViewFinders Tour

ViewFinders: Atlantic Film Festival for Youth, a production of the Atlantic Film Festival, announces its full program for students and teachers taking place at select Cineplex Cinemas throughout the Maritime Provinces during the months of March and April. New this year, in addition to activities in the Halifax Regional Municipality, ViewFinders will offer FREE activities for students and teachers at Cineplex Cinemas in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.

2016 CALL FOR ENTRY - 36th Atlantic Film Festival

We are pleased to make a Call for Entry to the 36th Annual Atlantic Film Festival taking place September 15-22, 2016. Submissions for the 2016 Festival will be accepted through both FilmFreeway and Withoutabox.


TIFF® salutes the country’s cinematic superstars, revealing the Canada’s Top Ten Film Festivallineup of the top 10 features, shorts and student shorts for 2015. Established in 2001, the festival celebrates and promotes contemporary Canadian cinema and raises awareness of Canadian achievements in film.
