Emerging Composer-Director Mentorship Program makes its return to M&I at AFF

The Atlantic Film Festival Association (AFFA) in partnership with the Guild of Canadian Film Composers (GCFC) and Symphony Nova Scotia (SNS) are pleased to present the second annual mentorship program for emerging film composers and directors. The Ins-and-Outs of Music in Film and Television Focussed on Bridging the Gap between these Mediums
Every September, Music & Image kicks off it's season with five days of panels, keynotes and showcases as part of the Atlantic Film Festival's Industry Sessions.
Workshops place musican, composers and filmmakers together to work and create together. Some workshops will pair a filmmaker with a band to shoot a music video (Ten x Ten) while others will bring a filmmaker together with a composer to score a short film with a full symphony (Emerging Composer-Director Mentorship a program sponsored Symphony Nova Scotia and Guild for Canadian Film Composers).
Panels and Keynotes focus on important trends in the business of music supervision or related areas and how it effects musicians, filmmakers and artists alike. These opportunities help bridge the gap between film, television and music and are certainly not to be missed for any filmmaker or musician.
Finally, M&I@AFF offers a unique opportuntiy for musicians to showcase their talents to potential music buyers and even meet one-on-one with them in business and networking opportunities that are simply non-available in other festivals thanks to the Atlantic Film Festival's "kitchen party" atmospheres. Musicians can apply for Showcase opportunities and preform live on one of the Festival's sound stages and register to participate in industry One-On-One Meetings.
