TRANS-ATLANTIC PARTNERS (TAP)

TRANS ATLANTIC PARTNERS is an intensive three module film training program for Canadian, European and American producers seeking co-production/co-venture professional development.

Module 1: June in Berlin
Module 2: September in Halifax leading into Strategic Partners (SP)
Module 3: September at IFP in New York, directly following SP

TAP offers one-of-a-kind, in-depth professional development to established film producers. Trainers and resource people are active, leading industry co-production players. While in Berlin and Halifax and New York, the participants receive training on all aspects of co-production, including legal, finance, distribution and exploitation. The program allows producers to gain knowledge and practical advice to move their productions forward. Those with co-production projects in development can make use of TAP to workshop and consult with experts.

In 2010, 28 producers from 10 countries worldwide participated in TAP, with 3 co-production deals signed during the program including Dreamland, a Bulgarian film to be co-produced by Svetoslav Doytchinov and The Sounding Line, a German film to be co-produced by Peter Kreutz of Aqua Film, both with producer Gregory MacKenzie of Canada's Impatient Pictures.

A full list of former TAP participants as well as the 2011 training schedule is available online at www.coproduction-training.com

Testimonials

Trans Atlantic Partners was a highly effective crash course in building international co-production relationships with producers from various countries across Europe and will undoubtedly lead to several co-production projects for my company in the coming years. Well organized, efficient and fun, this co-production program in Berlin and Halifax is highly recommended.

Robert Budreau, Lumanity Productions, Canada

Trans Atlantic Partners truly serves a producer's needs. The training perfectly bridges Canadian and European producers. Both the training in Berlin and the market in Halifax pleasantly exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend the programme to any producer.

Junyoung Jang, February Films, Canada
