The Atlantic Film Festival Association is proud to announce that it has joined the NSCAD Art District and moved into the NSCAD Fountain Campus.

The Atlantic Film Festival has moved as of February 1, 2016 to 1892 Hollis Street, taking over the space formerly occupied by the NSCAD School of Extended Studies. The location gives the Festival street visibility, a downtown location, and potential for a storefront box office.

2016 CALL FOR ENTRY - 36th Atlantic Film Festival

We are pleased to make a Call for Entry to the 36th Annual Atlantic Film Festival taking place September 15-22, 2016. Submissions for the 2016 Festival will be accepted through both FilmFreeway and Withoutabox.


TIFF® salutes the country’s cinematic superstars, revealing the Canada’s Top Ten Film Festivallineup of the top 10 features, shorts and student shorts for 2015. Established in 2001, the festival celebrates and promotes contemporary Canadian cinema and raises awareness of Canadian achievements in film. Running January 8 to 17, 2016 at TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto, the 10-day event presents public screenings of the selected films accompanied by introductions and Q&A sessions with filmmakers, as well as special events, industry panels and free engagements. The Atlantic Film Festival is proud to partner with TIFF® and the Halifax Central Library to bring the Canada’s Top Ten Film Festival™ to Halifax, May 2-8, 2016.

2016 ViewFinders - Call for Submissions!
ViewFinders is an Atlantic Canada wide youth initiative that brings the Atlantic Film Festival experience to school groups and communities across the region. Each year ViewFinders presents the best in regional, national and international films for youth, tackling issues from multiculturalism and community to sustainability and creativity.

The 2016 ViewFinders: Atlantic Film Festival for Youth is now proudly accepting film submissions via FilmFreeway. FilmFreeway offers free HD online screeners, Vimeo and YouTube integration, and more.
