In response to the 2015/2016 NS Provincial Budget released April 09, 2015.

We are truly disappointed to hear of the impending changes to the NS Film Tax Credit, which will no doubt have a dramatic effect on the productions happening in Nova Scotia.

We at the Atlantic Film Festival treasure our role as champions of our Atlantic Canadian Film Industry of which Nova Scotia is a huge part.  This decision will mean less films being made about the Atlantic Canadian experience to be shared not only locally but on a global scale.  This is a tremendous blow to an industry of talented craftspeople that are passionate and proud of their artistic contributions to our culture and heritage.
